Tim is the President & Chief Executive Officer for the National Self Storage Association. Prior to overseeing the association, he spent 11 years as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer and Sr. VP of Government Relations. Tim has overseen the passage of more than 40 pieces of industry legislation to help improve the regulations that govern the lien process, insurance programs and other laws that influence the self storage sector. He has also helped the industry avoid sales taxes and other threats. A resident of Stafford, Virginia, he previously lobbied in the environmental remediation and telecommunications sectors.
Tim manages all operations of the organization, including strategic planning, budgeting, personnel and board relations. The SSA supports the collective needs of members ranging from one-facility operators to the largest public companies within the industry. Supervise planning of all of the association activities, development and implementation of member benefits, ensuring ongoing value for all stakeholders. Maintain mutually beneficial relationships with state and international peer organizations. Represent the organization at national and state events, including presentations and speeches; manage media relations and otherwise participate in the public arena in support of the self storage sector. Develop relationships with industry partners, and work with government affairs director to represent the industry to public administrations and legislative bodies.
Carlos Kaslow is a California attorney and serves as the General Counsel to the Self Storage Association. He is the editor of the Self Storage Legal Review, the SSA's legal periodical. He is a founding partner of the Self Storage Legal Network; the industry's only telephone and e-mail legal information service.
Carlos has provided legal consulting services to several of the largest
U.S. self storage operators and provides the national and state
self storage associations with legal and drafting assistance on lien law reform
bills. He has written numerous articles on legal and insurance issues
confronting the self storage industry for the SSA Globe and other industry
publications. He is the co-author of the Rental Agreement Handbook, the Self
Storage Association's state annotated lien manual series and The Best of the
Self Storage Legal Network: Answers to the 75 Most Frequently Asked Legal
Questions on the Self Storage Business.
He also co-writes a column in the SSA Globe magazine and teaches online legal seminars for the SSA Online University.

Bryan “Craig” Gourley founded the firm in 1991. He has over thirty years of experience, focusing on real estate, taxation, condominium projects, construction and business law.
Craig graduated with multiple degrees in law, accounting and business.
