Nash Fung

"Magician Nash Fung is returning to WASSA as the opening act! This year he plans to up the game with something more unbelievable, interactive, and perhaps even a hint of thrilling danger! Besides performing, he is also a creator in the industry of magic, often creating original never-before-seen illusions that push magic forward. Nash’s original work has been featured on the CW Network’s “Penn & Teller: Fool us”, on Seattle’s King5TV, on TV across the Atlantics in the UK, even a mega popular kids YouTube channel.

When he is not busy performing on the road for corporate events & university campuses as a keynote speaker, he devotes his time in the PNW mentoring young magicians, and is also a passionate volunteer for the Seattle community serving for various non-profit organizations."

  

Tim Dietz

Tim is the President & Chief Executive Officer for the National Self Storage Association. Prior to overseeing the association, he spent 11 years as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer and Sr. VP of Government Relations. Tim has overseen the passage of more than 40 pieces of industry legislation to help improve the regulations that govern the lien process, insurance programs and other laws that influence the self storage sector. He has also helped the industry avoid sales taxes and other threats. A resident of Stafford, Virginia, he previously lobbied in the environmental remediation and telecommunications sectors.

Tim manages all operations of the organization, including strategic planning, budgeting, personnel and board relations. The SSA supports the collective needs of members ranging from one-facility operators to the largest public companies within the industry. Supervise planning of all of the association activities, development and implementation of member benefits, ensuring ongoing value for all stakeholders. Maintain mutually beneficial relationships with state and international peer organizations. Represent the organization at national and state events, including presentations and speeches; manage media relations and otherwise participate in the public arena in support of the self storage sector. Develop relationships with industry partners, and work with government affairs director to represent the industry to public administrations and legislative bodies.

Carlos Kaslow

 Carlos Kaslow is a California attorney and serves as the General Counsel to the Self Storage Association. He is the editor of the Self Storage Legal Review, the SSA's legal periodical. He is a founding partner of the Self Storage Legal Network; the industry's only telephone and e-mail legal information service.

Carlos has provided legal consulting services to several of the largest U.S. self storage operators and provides the national and state self storage associations with legal and drafting assistance on lien law reform bills. He has written numerous articles on legal and insurance issues confronting the self storage industry for the SSA Globe and other industry publications. He is the co-author of the Rental Agreement Handbook, the Self Storage Association's state annotated lien manual series and The Best of the Self Storage Legal Network: Answers to the 75 Most Frequently Asked Legal Questions on the Self Storage Business.

He also co-writes a column in the SSA Globe magazine and teaches online legal seminars for the SSA Online University.

 

  Matthew Gardner



  As Chief Economist for Windermere Real Estate, Matthew Gardner is responsible for analyzing    and interpreting economic data and its impact on the real estate market on both a local and        national level. Matthew has over 28 years of professional experience both in the U.S. and U.K.

 In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities, Matthew also sits on the Washington State  Governors Council of Economic Advisors; chairs the Board of Trustees at the Washington Center  for Real Estate Research at the University of Washington; and is an Advisory Board Member at  the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Washington where he also    lectures in real estate economics. Matthew is also one of a select number of economists who provide their housing market forecasts to Reuters for their Home Price Forecast Survey and also participates in Zillow’s Home Price Expectation Survey.




Craig Gourley

Bryan “Craig” Gourley founded the firm in 1991. He has over thirty years of experience, focusing on real estate, taxation, condominium projects, construction and business law.

Craig graduated with multiple degrees in law, accounting and business. Before opening his own firm, he contributed his talents to a prestigious Big 8 accounting firm in taxation and business, and then went on to join one of Washington’s top law firms in tax and real estate.  In 1991 Craig decided to focus his energy on developing his own firm.  Realizing that with technology, he could run a successful “ downtown” practice without actually having to be “ downtown”. Craig represents clients from all over Washington and has been involved with several major development projects in Seattle and well as medical office and multi family projects in Kitsap, Chelan, Spokane, Yakima, Skagit, Whatcom and Thurston Counties, just to name a few.

Considered a leading authority on Section 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges, Craig has been invited to speak on the topic to industry organizations throughout the US and has contributed articles to several national publications. When not in the office Craig can usually be found somewhere near water.
